Mariano Rivera Spitball Video

This is a clip from Game 3 of the 2009 ALCS. The greatest closer of all-time, Mariano Rivera, was getting hit around and in trouble. So does he spit on the ball to give his famous cut fastball a little extra cut?

He clearly looks around cautiously, like a kid about to pull a fire alarm (Been there. Done that.). And clearly spits in the direction of the baseball. Those statements can not be argued.

But did he actually spit on the ball? Was it just an odd camera angle and his Panamanian phlegm didn't come anywhere near the baseball? I don't think you can say with 100% certainty that he spits on the ball. We will never really know. But it's certainly suspicious behavior.
