The Axiom of Infidelity, sometimes called The Hugh Grant Unfaithfulness Principle, attempts to explain one of science`s great unsolved mysteries: why do men cheat? The solution is more elusive than the Higgs boson.
The short answer is we can't fully explain it with our current scientific understanding. It defies common sense and our perception of reality. Much like the behavior of sub-atomic particles described by quantum mechanics, objects can act in ways that defy classical interpretation and what we define as rational logic. But its existence is self-evident and therefore is accepted as true.
To that end, the Axiom of Infidelity states that for every man A that periodically intersects with woman B, there always exists a non-zero probabilty his penis will randomly intersect with woman C, independent of the relationship between A and B and the difference between B and C. There are no exceptions to this rule.
Example #1:
In 1995, Hugh Grant(A) cheated on Elizabeth Hurley(B) with a toothless street-walker prostitute named Divine Brown(C).
Example #2:
In 2009, Tiger Woods(A) cheated on Elin Nordegren(B) with a reality show cocktail waitress named Jaimee Grubbs(C).
